The analysis indicates that the Chin’s method is more suitable for the judgment of the ultimate bearing capacity for the single TC pile and its composite foundation, comparing with other methods, based on the measured load-settlement curves and basic judgment principles. Five empirical methods of ascertaining the ultimate bearing capacity for sing pile and one classic formulas of calculating the bearing capacity for composite foundation were imported, while three basic judging principles were proposed to determine the ultimate bearing capacity of TC piles. The analysis of test results show that there is no obvious plunge in the load-settlement curves for single TC pile and composition foundation and it is hard to determine the ultimate bearing capacity based on the existing specifications. Based on the traffic and transportation engineering of TC pile reinforcing soft soil, the static load tests for single TC pile and composite foundation were conducted to understand the load-settlement characteristics of TC piles.
